Hi there, You’re not alone this is a fairly common case sometimes with GitHub Education verification, especially when IDs are issued in non-Latin scripts. From a governance and compliance standpoint, you should not alter or annotate the photo itself (circling, underlining, highlighting, etc.). Any visual modification can be interpreted as tampering and may actually increase the likelihood of rejection. That said, here are a few proven best practices that usually unblock this situation:
In short, keep the document authentic and untouched, but be proactive in providing written context. This approach aligns with GitHub’s verification standards and has the highest success rate. Hope this helps you, Best of luck! |

Hi everyone,
HI guys. Did anyone have this problem before? they keep rejecting my ID because my full legal name is not clearly visible, but in the photo its on both photographed pages, one right under my picutre, on the other side its right under the big bold printed letters saying "СТУДЕНТСКА КЊИЖИЦА ИНДЕКС" (Studentska Knjižica Indeks in latin).
Am I allowed to edit the photo in some way to underline/circle/mark the name somehow?
its all literally in the middle , but it might confuse the validators because its in Serbian Cyrillic, so id do that if im allowed just to be sure. I double checked and everything checks out regarding the needed information. Thanks!
